Thomas Ronneau

Founder and CPI Instructor

Thomas is the Founder and CEO of Carv Performance Institute and has at times been #1 on the Carv Leaderboard in both 2021 and 2022. He works with Carv behind the scenes and played an important role in educating and certifying ski instructors in Carv, in Aspen/Snowmass.

Thomas is from Denmark but has lived in Aspen Colorado since 2013 with his wife and two sons. He holds the Euro Ski Pro which is the highest European ski instructor exam. He is an examiner and former Demo Team member for Denmark, where he also did two terms as the Technical Director. He is an Alumni Examiner for the Rocky Mountain Division and three-time US Champion in Powder 8. Thomas has worked as a trainer for the New Zealand based Rookie Academy in Aspen and in 2018 & 2019 in China and Japan.

In the summer Thomas is the Director of Golf at the Snowmass Club.

Thomas is married to Charlotte and together they have Eske and Leo.

Kim Mann

CPI Instructor

Kimberly is an instructor and staff trainer at Aspen Snowmass. Kim grew up skiing in the Swiss Alps and has skied all over the world. She chased winter for several years while working in Portillo, Chile.

 

Kim is also an examiner for PSIA and represented both California and the Rocky Mountain Division at the PSIA National Team Tryouts. She also has a passion for ski racing and coaches private athletes internationally. She enjoys skiing all over the mountain and really loves coaching people to get better at skiing and finding more joy on the mountain. Kim is a great technical coach and can often be found talking about skiing long after the lifts have stopped running. With her friendly and outgoing nature you can usually find her babbling away with people in any of the several languages she is fluent in.

 

She also has a passion for fitness training, biomechanics and nutrition. Off the slopes, she is still on the go, on her mountain bike, on a trail or traveling and exploring.

Demian Lasry Pro Card.png

Demian Lasry

CPI Instructor

Demian Lasry is a professional Argentine skier.


He was born in Patagonia where he grew up first as a ski racer and then as a ski coach and instructor.


He is an examiner and demonstrator for AADIDESS and was a member of the Argentinian national demo team at Interski, Crans Montana 2003, St Anton 2011, Ushuaia 2015, and Pamporovo 2019. Over the years he has been crowned Argentine champion several times in the national ski instructor championships.


Coached the Divas Aspen Syncro team to a world champion in 2022. He use to teach in Europe for many winters, and then he moved to USA in 2019.
He currently lives in Aspen, where he works for Aspen Snowmass ski school during winter, and in the summer he travels to his hometown of Bariloche in order to continue enjoying his great passion for skiing.

Tomas Mical

CPI Instructor

Tomas grew up playing ice hockey but his passion for skiing, and snowsports in general led him to the mountains. He has approximatley 25 seasons of experience under his belt as he has worked as a professional snowsport instructor in Australia, Japan, Czech Republic, Austria, and USA.

 

Tomas has been associated with CARV since 2019. He has served CARV as a Ski Ambassador and contributed to the CARV educational program by creating original instructional videos as well as helping CARV to take the quality of their product to another level. Tomas has at times been number 1 on the CARV Leaderboard in 2022.

 

Tomas holds the ISIA Card and the Euro Ski Pro certifications. He is an examiner and a former Technical Director for the Czech Republic Ski Instructor Association, as well as INTERSKI Demo Team member. He has been currently associated with newly established snowsport instructor association of Lithuania as a technical committee member, senior examiner, and National Team member for INTERSKI 2023 in Levi.  Tomas is a former Austrian national champion, Czech national champion, as well as Tirolean champion in synchronized skiing.

 

Tomas is a proud dad of Teddy, self-directed education supporter, and an outdoor sports and specialty coffee lover.

Kevin Jordan

CPI Instructor

Kevin Jordan is a member of the PSIA-AASI National Team. What gets him excited? He loves seeing other people succeed, tapping into their potential, and achieving their goals. Kevin is an Alpine, Children's, and Freestyle Examiner for PSIA-Rocky Mountain. In 2014, he was the USA National Powder 8 Champion.

 

He loves when students find that "aha" moment and make a change in their performance.

Mladen Tasev

CPI Instructor

Mladen is from Sofia Bulgaria, and now lives in Glenwood springs Colorado. He is a Graduate of the National Academy of Sports with a ski specialty focus.

Member of PSIA and ISIA and has been teaching skiing since 2002 in Bulgaria and the USA.

Currently he is a member of the Bulgarian demonstration team for the second term.

 

Mladen has been teaching skiing at Aspen Skiing Company.

He has been in the top 5 on the CARV Leaderboard in 2021 and in 2022 where he at times held the number one spot.

Nayla Rondina

CPI Instructor

Nayla Rondina is the first and only Argentine woman to obtain two level 3 certifications in Skiing and Snowboarding in Argentina. She has 20 years of experience teaching double annual winter seasons in Europe, Argentina, and the United States.

 

She has a range of accolades from being a current IFSA Freeride judge, body building instructor, the physical trainer for the Ski and Snowboard Demo Team Argentine Levi 2023, the Ski Synchro Divas Aspen 2022 World Champion, and South American SB 2017 Synchro Champion.

Nayla has followed her dream of becoming a ski instructor, and empowering people to get to the next level in their skiing. Snow for her, is not only her profession, but her passion, vocation and way of life.

Jason Sweet

CPI Instructor

Hailing from the slopes of San Martin de Los Andes, Jason practically grew up on skis. A national champion skier by 18, he took his talents to Aspen. Jason embodies the spirit of skiing: passionate, dedicated, and always pushing boundaries.

After conquering back-to-back winter seasons, Jason made Aspen his permanent home in 2013. He's no stranger to victory, having clinched the Aspen Synchro World Championships with the Argenteam in 2017. Now, Jason shares his expertise as a trainer for the Aspen Academy, shaping the next generation of ski champions.

But Jason's love for the mountains extends beyond winter. When the snow melts, he trades his skis for a downhill mountain bike or dirt bike, tearing through the trails with the same fearless spirit.

Nicolai Nissen Pro Card.png

Nicolai Nissen

CPI Instructor

Nicolai is a 3-time Danish National Team member - competing at Interski in 2015, 2019, and 2023.

 

He’s coached skiing for 15 years, and has taught in Austria, Canada, Chile, France, Italy, New Zealand, Switzerland, and the USA.

 

Prior to coaching skiing, Nicolai served 10 years in the Danish Army and Air Force, receiving First Lieutenant status. 

 

When Nicolai is not skiing in Aspen, or traveling to Portillo during our summer, he is likely on the water sailing. He obtained his Offshote Yacht Master degree in 2019.
